Taos Mayoral and Council Voter Information

We are at an important crossroads here in Taos. There’s a lot at stake in the upcoming municipal election. Your voice needs to be heard, so get out there and VOTE.

If you are registered, please vote early!  If you’re not registered to vote, you can still register easily, and you will be eligible to vote in this election. Here is the voting and registration information:

Early Voting: Tuesday, Feb 1 – Saturday, Feb 26
Town Hall, 400 Camino de la Placita, Conference Room 109
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
Please note: The office is closed on Monday, February 21, 2022, in observance of Presidents Day.
Saturday, February 26, 2022, hours of operation shall be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Election Day Voting: Tuesday, March 1, 2022
Town Hall, 400 Camino de la Placita, Training Room
Polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.

Absentee Voting: Request application for an absentee ballot to Town Clerk Francella Garcia at (575)751-2004, fgarcia@taosgov.com, or Deputy Clerk Denise Romero at (575)751-2005, dromero@taosgov.co  no later than February 24, 2022. 
Completed official mailing envelopes (with absentee ballots inside) shall be accepted until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, March 1, 2022. 

Voter Registration: You may register to vote at Town Hall and vote on the same day during early voting period (not after Saturday, February 26). 

Same-day registration will not be available on Municipal Officer Election Day.

To register to vote, you must present current and valid photo identification or the following: a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, student identification card, or other government documents, including identification issued by an Indian nation, tribe, or pueblo that shows your name and current address.
